I've had a few people say to me over the years, "How do you come up with new designs?" I always say it's by playing with the glass. And, it's true. I've always liked playing with materials and turning them into something, like rocks at the beach or driftwood, you name it. So, the glass is the same way. I do little "meditation" pieces when I start working, to focus myself and see where I'm at in that moment. It loosens me up and makes no excuses for anything. I just go on pure gut instinct and "what if?" energy. It's a blend of intuitive creation + critical thought. Color has always been my therapy. Shapes, balance, and texture always come into the equation of play too. Since I'll always be the girl who loves to make stuff and hang it somewhere, I've made them hangable. of course! This week I made two mediation pieces and they are for sale.
